A game by Branwen Shoop and Steph Wagner.
For MacOS, Linux and PC. Made with Godot.
Exhauster is an arcade-style space shooter with one catch:
You have no weapons.
The next best thing you've got is blasting enemies with the flames from your ship's exhaust. Sounds manageable, right? Problem is, when you're attacking, you're vulnerable. When you're not attacking, you're invincible (though prone to being shoved around).
The only way to stop the onslaught of flying brains is to cut them off at their source: destroy every base on any given level to proceed.
...but what happens when you reach the heart of the enemy fortress?...
RIYL: Excessive score chasing, nice sticky hitstops, Choplifter (in a sense), and running one specific play mechanic into the ground.
